Privacy Policy
1. General Provisions
The IFWY Organizing Committee (hereinafter referred to as “IFWY”) places great importance on protecting personal information of users who access and use IFWY services. IFWY provides its services to users worldwide, including the Republic of Korea, and strives to comply with relevant privacy laws and regulations in each jurisdiction.
This Privacy Policy applies to users who register for and use the IFWY website and explains how users’ personal information is collected, used, and protected. It also outlines the rights and responsibilities between IFWY and its users, thereby serving as a mechanism to guarantee the users’ “right to self-determination regarding their personal information.”
2. Consent to the Processing of Personal Information
IFWY processes only the minimum necessary personal information required to establish and perform the service use agreement in a lawful and fair manner. During the registration process, IFWY provides information regarding the handling of personal information, and users are deemed to have consented to the processing of their personal information upon clicking the 'Agree' button.
3. Items of Personal Information Processed and Methods of Collection
(1) Items Collected
- Upon general user registration: Name, phone number, email address
- When using the community features: Gender, date of birth, profile photo,
nationality, country of residence, affiliation, languages spoken

(2) Methods of Collection
- Information provided directly by the user during the registration process
- Information entered during service use, such as inquiries to the customer center or posts on the message board
4. Purpose of Processing Personal Information
(1) For essential website operations, including delivery of notices
(2) To respond to user inquiries and handle complaints for service improvement
(3) To verify user identity during registration, prevent duplicate registrations, and maintain records for dispute resolution
(4) To impose restrictions on users who violate applicable laws or the IFWY Terms of Use, including restricting access and preventing misuse or disruption
(5) To analyze demographic trends and service usage patterns
(6) To facilitate interaction among users based on their preferences and information
5. Provision of Personal Information to Third Parties
In principle, IFWY does not disclose users' personal information to third parties. However, personal information may be provided in the following exceptional cases:
(1) When prior consent is obtained from the user
(2) When required by other applicable laws
(3) When it is clearly necessary to protect the life, body, or property of the data subject or a third party
(4) When it is urgently required for public health or public safety
6. Outsourcing of Personal Information Processing
Currently, IFWY processes all personal information internally without outsourcing. If outsourcing becomes necessary in the future, IFWY will provide prior notice and obtain consent where required.
7. Protection of Children’s Personal Information
IFWY does not collect personal information from children under the age of 14 and restricts their registration. In accordance with the laws of users' countries of residence, parental or legal guardian consent may be required for the collection of personal information from children aged 14 to 16. IFWY follows the necessary procedures to ensure compliance. If it is discovered that a child's personal information has been collected, it will be deleted without delay.
8. Use of Cookies and Similar Technologies
IFWY does not use cookies or similar technologies to collect personal information. As such, cookie storage settings and opt-out features are not operated.
9. Measures to Ensure the Security of Personal Information

(3) Installation and regular inspection of security programs
10. Users’ Rights and How to Exercise Them
(1) Users are responsible for any incidents arising from inaccurate information provided by themselves, and the use of false or stolen information may result in account suspension.
(2) Users may access, modify, or request deletion of their personal information at any time.
(3) To access or edit personal information, users may click “Edit My Information.” To delete their account, users may click “Delete Account” and follow the identity verification process.
(4) If IFWY becomes aware that a user has registered with another person's personal information, the account will be suspended or deleted immediately. Likewise, if a user reports IFWY of identity theft, appropriate actions will be taken immediately.
11. Retention and Use Period of Personal Information
(1) The retention period for personal information is until the user deletes their account, which is considered the period agreed to by the user. Once the purpose of processing or provision has been achieved, the relevant information will be promptly deleted. Additionally, if the a user deletes their account or if the user’s ID is deleted due to false information, the processed personal information will be deleted and rendered unusable for any purpose.
(2) Personal information will be promptly destroyed once the purpose of processing has been fulfilled. However, it may be retained under the following conditions:
- If a user has caused disruption to services through improper use, IFWY may retain the user's information for one (1) year for the purpose of legal investigations or to protect other users.
- If retention is required under applicable laws and regulations, IFWY may retain personal information for a specific period as prescribed:
▷ Records of contracts or subscription withdrawals: 5 years
▷ Records of payment and supply of goods: 5 years
▷ Records of consumer complaints or dispute resolution: 3 years
12. Procedures and Methods for Destroying Personal Information
(1) IFWY shall promptly destroy personal information when it becomes unnecessary, such as when the retention period has expired or the processing purpose has been achieved.
(2) If the retention period agreed upon by the data subject has expired or the processing purpose has been achieved, but applicable laws require continued preservation of the personal information, IFWY will store such information separately in a different database or location.
(3) The procedures and methods for destruction are as follows:
- Destruction Procedure: When a user submits a withdrawal request and identity verification is completed, the personal information provided by the user is immediately deleted and is not retained separately. However, if retention is required by applicable laws, the information will be retained in accordance with relevant legal requirements
- Destruction Method: Personal information recorded in writing or printed on paper is destroyed by shredding or incineration. Personal information stored electronically is permanently deleted using technical methods that rednder recovery impossible.
13. Changes to the Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy may be amended in accordance with changes in applicable laws or IFWY’s internal policies. In such cases, IFWY will announce the changes in advance on its website and clearly indicate the effective date. The revised Privacy Policy will take effect as of the announced effective date and may also be separately notified to existing users via email or website announcements.
